Provence enjoys more than two hundred sunny days a year, but every season feels different. Below you can read what to expect in each period in and around Lorgues, so you can choose the time that suits you.

Spring (April and May)
The landscape is green, flowers bloom everywhere and temperatures are pleasant, often between 18 and 24 degrees. Ideal for walking, visiting villages and browsing markets without the summer crowds. The sea is still cool; with pool heating you can swim comfortably at the villa.
Summer (June to September)
Warm and sunny, with temperatures that can exceed 30 degrees in July and August. This is the time for the pool, the beaches and long evenings on the terrace. From late June to mid July the lavender blooms on the Valensole plateau. The coast is busy in July and August; the hinterland around Lorgues stays relatively quiet.
Autumn (October)
The sea is still warm from the summer, the grape harvest has just ended and the crowds have gone. One of our favourite periods to explore the region, with mild days and cooler nights.
Winter (November to March)
Quiet and often sunny, with cold nights. It is truffle season, with truffle markets in Aups and the surrounding area. With underfloor heating and the fireplace the villa is a warm base then too, and the low season rate makes a longer stay attractive.
Watch out for the mistral
The mistral is a cold, dry northerly wind that sometimes blows for a few days. It brings clear weather and blue skies but can feel chilly. Seek out the sheltered spots in the garden, or head to the coast, where it is often calmer.
