Lorgues lies in the hinterland of the Var, between the A8 motorway and the Gorges du Verdon. Whether you drive or fly, the last kilometres take you through vineyards and oak woods.
By car
From the central Netherlands it is about 1,200 to 1,300 kilometres, or 12 to 13 hours of driving without long breaks. The usual route goes via Luxembourg and Lyon, south on the A7 and then along the A8 towards Nice. Take the Le Luc or Le Muy exit; from there it is about half an hour to Lorgues.
Many guests split the journey with an overnight stay in Burgundy or around Lyon. Allow for tolls on French motorways and for low emission zones in large cities such as Lyon, where a Crit'Air sticker may be required.
Flying
- Toulon-Hyères: about 1 hour by car.
- Nice Côte d'Azur: about 1 hour 15 minutes via the A8, with the most connections.
- Marseille Provence: about 1.5 hours by car.
By train
Les Arcs-Draguignan TGV station is a short drive from Lorgues and has direct trains from Paris, among others. From the station, take a rental car or taxi.
A car is essential
Lorgues village is within walking distance, but for beaches, the Verdon and the wine estates you need a car. The villa has free parking and a charging point for electric cars.
